Cyprus Photographic Archive

This project involved the development of both the website and back-office management platform to host the entire photographic archive of the Republic of Cyprus.

The archive hosts thousands of high-quality photographs relating to Cyprus, from the 1940's until today. Each photograph is categorised both contextually and chronologically; and contains a title, description and keywords in both English and Greek. Moreover, each photograph is also linked to related persons, organisations, places and events, thus rendering it a valuable research tool.

Currently, the website is accessible internally at the Press & Information Office, which is the state communication service of the government.

However, this valuable resource will shortly be made publicly available so as to enable researchers, journalists, authors, students and other interested parties to gain direct access to this vast library of fully categorised photographic material. Visitors will be able to search the library with multiple criteria, make their own collections and even place orders for high-resolution copies of the photos they want.
